Now that we have learned where we come from and some perspectives on possible inherited opinions we need to acknowledge and learn about where we currently are. This is important to look at both the traditional lands and also the Treaty Lands. Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island (Canada) have been here since time immemorial, so let's learn about whose land we are on.

In recent years you have probably heard many land acknowledgements at various workshops, events and the like. This is a way to acknowledge whose land one is currently standing on. At times these can sound fake or empty. That should not be the intent, nor should they be the presented in this manner. By educating ourselves we can speak with more meaning in our acknowledgements.
