I began this week by moving into a house in Centretown Ottawa where I will be housesitting for the next month. It's a pretty cute little house, and close to a lot of things. In other words, Carlton will get a good rest from driving for a while. We had a farewell party for Danny (the house owner) and then on Tuesday he was off to Columbia. On the weekend I was super happy as I was able to finally go skating on the Rideau Canal! We went for about an hour and then headed back, but I am definitely gonna try to go again. It's interesting to see how the ice formed and the amount of people on the canal as well, even though it was like 6pm.Â
On Sunday I headed over to my Aunt's place to help her move apartments, which mostly consisted of putting up these really cool blinds. Charlie and I also explored a bit of our neighbourhood. On Tuesday I got to go on the ViaRail train with Robin. We were off to Toronto and Guelph for a few days. The train was highly enjoyable, especially when we passed by Lake Ontario. I even found 2 awesome old German books at a secondhand store in Guelph.Â
After our short visit we headed back to Ottawa where I will start a variety of odd jobs which you can learn about in my next blog. In the mean time feel free to check out my 'Across Canada' gallery and follow me on Facebook and Instagram.
