As we have already discussed education is huge. Education can teach you where we have come from, what has happened, and where we currently are or where we are going. This topic is huge and I am still learning so much. It is important to keep in mind that from a colonizer background we have been influenced through the colonizer society. Due to this, one must keep an open mind and be willing to accept that we may not know the entire truth. There are many things in our education system that has been glanced over or, at times, not mentioned at all.
The first verse of this song came out in 2021 when 215 unmarked graves were found in British Columbia on Tk’emlups te Secwépemc First Nation at the end of May. This was a time of mourning for many Indigenous communities. During this time, many non-Indigenous individuals were not sure what to do, especially with Canada Day a month away. Many wanted to celebrate the country they are a part of, put also knew it was a time of mourning for these children, while admitting Canada's dark past. I found this song as a strong awareness to what we have missed and that it was time to learn more, particularly in what Canada's past is.

Below are some major events that have happened in Canada's Past to be aware of. In many of these cases there are a large number or resources to look into and read more. One should remember that these events are not isolated to Canada. Colonization was a global issue and affected many communities in different continents. Looking at these other locations (America, Australia, New Zealand, etc) can also help on the learning curve of how colonization has, and still is effecting people.
