This week started off with me heading to Toronto to play tourist a bit more. Seeing as it's another large city I didn't intend on staying very long. The first full day I was off to see the CN Tower, it was pretty big. I decided not to go up it but instead explored a bit more of downtown. One thing I found, and really enjoyed, was Graffiti Alley. My favourite part about it was seeing the differences between the new and old artists. Some of the pieces were absolutely astounding with the amount of detail in them.
After Toronto I headed farther South to Niagara Falls. I loved seeing the water falls and exploring the great landscapes our country has to offer. Niagara Falls was no exception. However, I did notice that it's not quite as astonishing when there are so many other tourists and it is a mere 2 minute walk from the parking lot. I have come to terms that a big part of the wonderment is the path to the view.Â
For the weekend I decided to try my first couchsurfing experience in Ottawa. I was pretty excited about meeting these new strangers. On Friday night we headed to an event called Nature Nocturne. It was essentially a dance in the Museum of Nature with the exhibits all open. It was a unique experience to see a mixture of clubbing, old ornate ceilings and a new glass tower, it was pretty fun though. From there we hung out at the boys' house with Charlie, and two cats, Min Min and Willow. We also experimented and brewed our own beer. The mess that ensued was remarkable.
From the amazing couchsurfing experience I stayed one night in my van at the Mer Bleue Conservation Area. Then it was onward to Metcalfe to start working on a dairy farm. Make sure to stay tuned to learn more about that experience. In the meantime check out the images in my 'Across Canada' gallery and follow me on Facebook and Instagram.
